Get results in days, not monthsResults in days, not monthsYour website can say anything. Google weighs what other places say about you: directories that list your address, associations that name you as a member, a youth league that thanks you as a sponsor, a local news story that links to your clinic. For a chiropractor, that evidence comes from both the usual local sources and from the health community around you. Here is how we build it without paying for shortcuts.
Directories
| Tier | Examples | Why they matter | Care needed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Core platforms | Google Business Profile, Apple Business Connect, Bing Places, Yelp, Facebook | These feed maps, phones and car systems and are checked first by assistants | Same name and phone everywhere; one claimed listing per clinic |
| Healthcare directories | Healthgrades, Vitals, Zocdoc and similar provider databases | Patients and some insurers browse them, and they confirm doctor details | Doctor names, specialties and photos must be accurate; many pages exist whether you claimed them or not |
| Chiropractic-specific | National and state chiropractic association locators, society directories, technique-based provider finders | Credible, relevant signals from your own profession | Join only the groups you really belong to; listings usually follow membership |
| Local community | Chamber of commerce, business improvement districts, neighborhood associations, local health guides | Reinforces that you are rooted in the area | Choose directories you would use even without SEO |
| Data aggregators | Large providers that feed many smaller sites | Correcting the source fixes many copies at once | Changes take weeks to spread |
Exact directory names and pricing change often. We confirm what is current before we submit anything.
Citation hygiene
Chiropractors move, rename the clinic after a partner leaves, change phone systems and add or lose doctors. Each change leaves traces across the internet, and Google reads conflicting traces as doubt. We start with an audit: search the clinic's phone numbers, former addresses and each doctor's name, then list what exists, what is wrong and what is duplicated. Duplicate listings for a retired doctor are especially common and especially harmful, because they split reviews and send calls to a number nobody answers.
After the audit we correct what we can claim, request removal of what we cannot and record each fix so the next audit does not start from zero. Because we are working with healthcare listings, we are careful about where patient details could appear, and we do not submit anything that identifies a patient.
Local links
Teams, leagues and booster clubs
A sponsor page or a team thank-you with a link ties your clinic to a real local activity. Sponsorships are a business decision first and an SEO benefit second.
5Ks, gyms, studios and clubs
Offer a talk on desk posture, lifting form or recovery, or a screening table at an event. The host page that lists you can link back.
Physical therapists, massage therapists, podiatrists, primary care offices
Good referral relationships are mutual and earned through communication. A "preferred providers" page on a partner's website is a bonus, never the goal.
Newspapers, newsletters, neighborhood blogs
A doctor who answers a reporter's question on winter shoveling injuries is useful to readers and creates a natural mention.
State and national chiropractic associations, continuing-education sites
Member directories, conference listings and speaker pages sometimes carry links.
Companies with desk workers or physical jobs
Wellness days and lunch-and-learns create event pages and sometimes a mention in company newsletters.
Outreach
Choose a local organization where the clinic already has a relationship or a real reason to be mentioned.
A short, accurate article, a talk, a donated screening table or a sponsorship that stands on its own.
Everything with your name on it is checked for claims your board might question.
A line in the event recap or a link in the sponsor list is a reasonable request. We do not demand it.
Track what appeared, what did not and what to renew next year.
Shortcuts
A chiropractor's inbox is full of link offers: packages of "healthcare backlinks," private blog networks, directories that promise a listing in exchange for a link back and lead brokers who sell exclusive new-patient inquiries. Paid links meant to pass ranking value can run against Google's spam policies, and lists of hundreds of low-quality directories do nothing but clutter your record.
Two further cautions are particular to chiropractors. Some directories and platforms charge per patient referral or per lead, and in many states rules on fee-splitting, patient brokering or paid referrals may apply to health providers. Others connect injured people with attorneys and medical providers in return for payment. We do not buy or sell patient or case referrals, and we advise you to ask your board and an attorney before joining anything that does. Second, testimonial-based links and "top doctor" badges sold for a fee can raise advertising-rule questions. When in doubt, skip it.
Tracking
| Check | What a problem looks like | Typical fix |
|---|---|---|
| Name, address and phone consistency | Old numbers or suite changes on core listings | Correct the source listing or aggregator |
| Duplicate or retired listings | A former doctor or old address with its own reviews | Claim and merge or request removal |
| New links earned | No new local mentions in months | Plan the next sponsorship, talk or press contact |
| Links pointing to deleted pages | Old URLs after a redesign return an error | Redirect to the closest live page |
| Suspicious links | Spammy sites suddenly pointing at the clinic | Document, and disavow only when there is a clear problem |
Referral neighbors
Some of the best signals a clinic can earn are not links at all. A primary care office that sends back-pain patients for a trial of conservative care, a physical therapist who shares a patient between visits, a podiatrist who suggests a posture assessment: these relationships produce patients and sometimes a mention on a provider page. They also take time, often a few months of coffee meetings, handwritten notes and honest communication before anyone refers.
Treat these relationships as professional courtesy, not a marketing trick. Share a short summary of how your clinic works, what conditions you treat and when you refer out. Send a brief update, with the patient's permission, when someone has been referred. Avoid anything that looks like payment for referrals; in many states, fee-splitting and referral-payment rules apply to healthcare providers, and an attorney should look at any arrangement. Where the partner publishes a "preferred providers" page, you may earn a link, and your AI search presence can benefit from the corroboration.
A year of opportunities
| Time | Opportunity | What the clinic offers | What may result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Early spring | Charity 5K and fun-run sponsor lists | A sponsorship and a screening table | A sponsor page and an event recap with your name |
| Late spring | Youth spring sports | Team sponsorship and a short injury-awareness talk | A mention on the league site |
| Summer | Farmers markets and community fairs | A booth with posture checks and a drawing for a non-health prize | Event listings and photos |
| Late summer | School athletic booster clubs | Preseason information for parents | A thank-you page and a newsletter note |
| Fall | Corporate wellness weeks | A lunch talk on desk setup | A mention in an internal or public newsletter |
| Winter | Local news features on slips and shoveling | A doctor available for a quote | A natural press mention |

Citation work is bundled into Organic Growth (Silver $1,495, Gold $2,495, Platinum $3,495) with local outreach folded in. No setup fee, no contract, and we never sell link packages.
The ones you actually qualify for and that people use: your state association and the national bodies you belong to, plus any technique or population directory tied to training you hold, such as a pediatric or sports provider finder. A chiropractor should skip listings that exist only to sell a link. We confirm each membership and its listing rules before submitting.
Not really. Friendly clinics nearby are neighbors, not link sources, and swapping links with them adds little. Links from the places patients live and work, such as leagues, gyms, employers and community sites, are more natural and more useful. Real mentions beat reciprocal arrangements every time.
Fewer than most vendors suggest. A well-chosen set of core, healthcare and local listings, kept accurate, outperforms hundreds of low-value ones. We aim for the places your patients and Google actually check.
Testimonial rules vary by state and board, and some prohibit certain kinds entirely. We do not publish patient stories unless you have written permission and your board's current language allows it.
It can, if the team or league publishes a sponsor page that links to you, but the main reason to sponsor is community goodwill. We help you ask for proper credit and keep expectations modest.
Be cautious. Referral-fee, fee-splitting and patient-brokering rules differ by state and apply to healthcare. Ask your board or an attorney before paying any platform for patients, and know that we do not buy or sell referrals.
The chiropractor who owns the clinic, plus whoever handles billing if the partner is an attorney or another provider. Any arrangement that involves payment, free services or patient referrals should go past your board rules and an attorney before it is signed. We prepare the outreach; you decide.
Usually, yes, though it takes persistence. We claim the listing where possible, correct the details or request removal, and note which sources are slow. Data aggregators can take weeks. We recheck after a month and keep a log so the same error does not return.
Corrections may appear on major platforms within days or weeks, with data aggregators taking longer. The effect on rankings is gradual, and we report what changed rather than promising a result.
